Dear Mr. Perales:
Your recent letter concerning our editorial on racial discrimination was most kind and deeply appreciated.
In addition to being personally encouraging, such letters as yours afford a much needed incentive to newspapers to go on rendering what service they can in the interests of freedom, tolerance and brotherhood.
It is one of my hopes for this section of the country that education--plus time--gradually will erase the distasteful race consciousness which now exists.
Sincerely yours,
