A symmetrical composition features two military men sitting back-to-back. On the left, a man in a Falangist uniform, marked by the yoke and arrows symbol, grips a rifle while seated on the body of a bound and gagged civilian. On the right, a man in a Soviet-style Communist uniform, bearing the hammer and sickle, mirrors this pose, holding a rifle as he sits on a similarly bound civilian. The two soldiers exhibit nearly identical posture and expression, emphasizing moral equivalence. The civilians lie prone, gagged, and suffering.

A la izquierda, un hombre con uniforme falangista, marcado con el símbolo del yugo y las flechas, empuña un rifle mientras está sentado sobre el cuerpo de un civil atado y amordazado. An account of the resource
A towering, grotesque Nazi soldier with exaggerated features wears a swastika armband and a helmet. He holds a bomb in one hand and is about to shake Franco’s hand with the other. Franco is drawn as a short man. Behind Franco, a group of men forms a precarious human totem pole. Stacked atop one another are a priest, an oligarch, a military man, and a Falangist/monkey at the top, raising a sign that reads “ARRIBA ESPAÑA.” Their human tower is as tall as the monstrous Nazi soldier.
Un imponente y grotesco soldado nazi, con rasgos exagerados, lleva un brazalete con una esvástica y un casco. Lleva una bomba en una mano y está a punto de darle la otra a Franco, dibujado bajito. Detrás de Franco, un grupo de hombres forma un precario tótem humano. Apilados uno encima del otro, hay un sacerdote, un oligarca, un militar y un mono falangista que levanta un cartel que dice "ARRIBA ESPAÑA". La columna humana que construyen tiene la misma altura que el monstruoso soldado nazi.

A military parade celebrating victory serves as a reminder of state violence and highlights the normalization of fascist culture on a Madrid street. On the right, Franco, with the military and civil elite, occupies a podium adorned with the Falangist yoke and arrows, saluting the parade. A group of people reads a football match announcement posted on a wall. Inside the houses, extreme poverty is evident. On the left, a group of intellectuals reaches out to touch the hands of prisoners through the gates of a prison.

<p>Fighting Fascist Spain -- The Exhibits (FFSTE) is a digital project that recovers and preserves U.S. Hispanic antifascist print culture (periodicals, communities, theatre, and graphic art) with the goal of documenting victims, fighters, and survivors of Spanish fascism and their allies. FFSTE expresses historical justice by amplifying antifascists' voices and perspectives.</p>
