Republic. República.
A figure wearing a Phrygian cap carries a large arrow with the message "Union of all democratic forces." It is about to bring Franco down, who barely stands on boards that say "poverty, incompetency, chaos, monarchy without monarch, discontent crisis, Falange anachronism" while he shouts: "I won't go, I won't go."

May Day In Madrid. Primero de mayo en Madrid.
A military parade celebrating victory serves as a reminder of state violence and highlights the normalization of fascist culture on a Madrid street. On the right, Franco, with the military and civil elite, occupies a podium adorned with the Falangist yoke and arrows, saluting the parade. A group of people reads a football match announcement posted on a wall. Inside the houses, extreme poverty is evident. On the left, a group of intellectuals reaches out to touch the hands of prisoners through the gates of a prison.

Un grupo de personas están leyendo un anuncio de un partido de fútbol colgado en una pared. Dentro de las casas se percibe un pobreza extrema. A la izquierda, un grupo de intelectuales tocan las manos de los prisioneros a través de los barrotes de la prisión;

Ilusiones de Franco.
Three political prisoners are in a small cell with a leaking ceiling. Their clothes are ragged and they look tired. In reference to a recent Franco's speech, the caption says "Twenty more years … He wants to kill any hope left."Tags Anti-fascist Cultures -- United States; Caricatura Editorial; Culturas Antifascistas -- Estados Unidos; España Libre (New York, 1939-1977); Fascism -- Spain -- 1939-1975; Fascismo -- España -- 1939-1975; Sociedades Hispanas Confederadas de los Estados Unidos de Norte América (SHC) -- United States -
Derecho de asilo
Nazis ask Franco for refuge in Spain.
