Heil Spain. Arriba España.
A towering, grotesque Nazi soldier with exaggerated features wears a swastika armband and a helmet. He holds a bomb in one hand and is about to shake Franco’s hand with the other. Franco is drawn as a short man. Behind Franco, a group of men forms a precarious human totem pole. Stacked atop one another are a priest, an oligarch, a military man, and a Falangist/monkey at the top, raising a sign that reads “ARRIBA ESPAÑA.” Their human tower is as tall as the monstrous Nazi soldier.

The hearse is driven by a priest, a member of the economic elite, a military officer, and a Falange member holding a parrot, representing the piracy that fascism and the empire embodied. However, the students manage to escape through a back door. The caption reads, “In search of Teachers.”

Biba Isabel y Fernando.
